- Why Walgreens/Purdue: After looking into this program, I love this program offers a wide range of unique experiences. I love the different longitudinal experiences of community pharmacy, academia, specialty medications, and various projects this program has to offer. The ability to travel to the different specialty Walgreens locations in the Indianapolis area in addition to teaching at Purdue really stood out to me. I know the preceptors and mentors involved in this program are truly the best and focus on your success.
- Research Interests: Community outreach, mental health
- Career Interests: Academia, ambulatory care, specialty medications, oncology, and mental health
- What I enjoy about Indianapolis: It’s nice to be so close to everything. There’s always something going on and something new to explore. I love hanging out with family and friends and showing them around town.
- Hobbies: I love playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

Lizzie Riley-Jensen, PharmD (2023-2024): Currently completing the 2-year Community Practice Research Fellowship Program with Dr. Margie Snyder, PharmD, MPH, FCCP, FAPhA at Purdue University.
Michelle Szabo, PharmD (2021-2022): Completed a PGY2 Ambulatory Care residency training program with University of Louisville.
Gabbie Law, PharmD (2020-2021): Completed a PGY2 Ambulatory Care training program with Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. Currently a clinical staff pharmacist at UK HealthCare Specialty Pharmacy supporting primary care services in Lexington, KY.
Molly Nichols, PharmD, MS, MATS (2019-2020): Completed the Hook Drug Foundation Community Practice Research Fellowship with Dr. Margie Snyder, PharmD, MPH, FCCP, FAPhA at Purdue University from 2020-2022. Currently serves as Affiliate Faculty with Purdue University and will begin a Research Assistant Professorship with Purdue in 2023. Supports the Walgreens residency through mentorship and co-preceptorship of the resident.
Elizabeth Davenport, PharmD (2018-2019): After working as a staff/relief pharmacist for Walgreens Specialty pharmacies in Indianapolis, IN, Elizabeth returned to her home state of Michigan. She has worked as a Clinical Specialty Pharmacist at OptiMed Health Partners in Kalamazoo, MI. Currently is the Pharmacy Manager at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph, MI, responsible for the transitions of care meds2beds program.
Alex Mills, PharmD (2017-2018): Finished a PGY2 in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy at The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 2019. Spent a short time back in the state of Indiana as Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice (Ambulatory Care) at Manchester University College of Pharmacy in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Is now in Jackson, MS serving as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice for The University of Mississippi, specializing in HIV management and LGBTQ health.
Katherine Anderson, PharmD (2016-2017): Pharmacy and Onsite Manager at Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy inside Community Hospital North. Supports the residency as the primary preceptor for medication distribution at the resident’s home site. Has also supported the program assisting in accreditation visit prep and other administrative duties of the program as a residency site coordinator.
Jonathan Sarky, PharmD (2015-2016): Pharmacy manager for Walgreens pharmacy in Westfield, IN (Indianapolis Area). Residency Program Director of Walgreens/Purdue PGY1 Community-Based Residency program in Indianapolis, IN. Serves as MTM lead for our 90+ central Indiana Walgreens locations.
Raven Jackson, PharmD (2014-2015) Previous pharmacy manager for Walgreens pharmacy in competitive Houston, TX area. Currently full-time academia position as Clinical Assistant Professor with alma mater Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy in New Orleans.
Chelsea Pekny, PharmD (2013-2014): Finished a global health PGY2 program in 2015 with Purdue University in Eldorat, Kenya post community residency program. Post PGY2, continued her work in Kenya, working under a grant advancing pharmacy services in diabetes. Now back in the states, was the Coordinator of Global Pharmacy Initiatives with The Ohio State University and Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy, and also Pharmacy Manager at the Walgreens HIV Center of Excellence location on the west side of Chicago, IL. She currently is continuing her assistant professor appointment with Ohio State, as well as employed by University of Chicago Medicine as a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist where she is involved with their transitions of care program.
Jennifer Johnson, PharmD (2012-2013): Pharmacy manager at ”Community, a Walgreens pharmacy” URAC accredited specialty pharmacy location on the north side of Indianapolis. Primary preceptor for our specialty pharmacy learning experience.
Helen Van Lear, PharmD (2011-2012): Previously managed MTM programs with 35+ Walgreens locations in central Indiana. Was also MTM preceptor for residency program and pharmacy students. Currently staff pharmacist at “Community, a Walgreens pharmacy” URAC accredited specialty pharmacy location on the north side of Indianapolis. Co-preceptor for our specialty pharmacy learning experience. Consults with our resident on MTM practices.
