Ingredients for this Starbucks Oatmilk Matcha Lavender Cream Recipe

Scroll down to the recipe card at the bottom of the page for the detailed ingredient measurements.

  • Oat Milk: Try to use an extra creamy oat milk so that your matcha latte has the best texture.
  • Matcha: Starbucks uses a sweetened matcha mix in their beverages, so we did the same for this green tea latte. This one from Matcha Love is very good.
  • Lavender Syrup:is how we will add lavender flavor to the cold foam on this latte. You can buy the syrup from the grocery store or make one at home. You could also use the powder version if you’d like but you would have to add sweetener with it.
  • Heavy Cream:combines with the lavender to create a delicious topping for your creamy matcha. It also creates a beautiful silky texture.
  • Milk: is used to dilute the heavy cream to create the perfect cold foam topping for a latte.
  • Ice:Make sure to use ice made from purified water so that it doesn’t taste bad when it melts.
  • Hot Water: will be used to mix with the matcha powder.

Frequently asked questions – FAQ

What if I Can’t Find Lavender Syrup?

Finding the Lavender Syrup in stores can be difficult. Luckily, there are a couple of other ways you can make the lavender cold foam at home.

  • Simple Syrup and Lavender Extract:One method is to do what I did and make a home made lavender syrup. All you need to do is make a simple syrup by combining equal parts (hot but not boiling) water and sugar, think 1 cup to 1 cup. Then add in some lavender extract and a little purple food coloring. Give it a stir and let it cool. Now you can use this in the recipe.
  • Cream, Sweetener, and Lavender Powder:This method is more similar to the one Starbucks uses. They combine a vanilla-flavored sweet cream with their proprietary lavender powder. Your best option is to use heavy cream and milk with pumps of vanilla syrup and lavender powder. Combine all of this and froth it with a hand frother to create the cold foam for your lavender latte.

Can I Use Unsweetened Matcha in this Iced Lavender Oat Milk Latte?

Yes you can! Unsweetened matcha is much more common and easier to find, so absolutely you can use it.

Just want to add sweetener to it separately if you want it to have a touch of sweetness though. Vanilla syrup or honey are two flavors that would complement the matcha and lavender flavors nicely.

Can I Make a Hot Version of this Delicious Beverage?

You can, however it will not turn out the same. Because the cold foam is cold and the matcha will be hot, the cream will liquify and combine with the matcha or pretty much melt into it. It will taste phenomenal still but you won’t have the distinct layers.

How to Store the Iced Starbucks Oatmilk Matcha Lavender Cream

Storing this drink is not recommended as the ice will melt and the cold foam cream will lose its airiness and blend into the matcha.

If you don’t finish it all and absolutely must store it, try to remove the ice with a fork or strain the liquid through a sieve. Then put it in an airtight container such as a mason jar and store it in the fridge. It should be good up to 3 or 4 days.
